The Great Hanshin Earthquake
P Beginning of activity The public advertisement for the notes is started in the middle of February, 1995(From the earthquake about one month later).
The 1st edition was closed on March 15 and published in May.
Q Motive We thought us something to do at volunteer after the earthquake. Then, we started to collect notes of foreigners who did not seem to remain in the record. And the posters were pasted to the refuge and the place which stood out by 3 languages(English, Chinese, and Korean language).
It was said, " Why you don't collect Japanese notes ? " everywhere in the refuge, and Japanese posters were prepared, and we began to collect Japanese notes too.
R Published The 7th volume was published in July, 2001.
All the texts of seven volumes have been also opened to the public through HP.
S Staff 63 Support member: Activity is supported by the annual membership fee.

V Meaning which keeps being recorded Subsequent are more serious than immediately after earthquakes.
a.Amang the persons who received serious damage, there are a lot of people who become low-spirited after few years though it is energetic immediately after the earthquake.
After having rebuilt own house, a father got depression.
After having finished three anniversaries of a dead daughter, an elderly person did not have a mind to do anything.
b. Record of secondary disaster
Inconvenience until infrastructure is restored/Air pollution by open-air burning/Noise pollution of helicopter/Difficulty of revival of shopping street in which it is struck/Load of loan repayment after own house is rebuilt.

It is likely to be able to say only after time passes.
a. There are people who receive big damage to the mind though physical damage was a little.
Person not sleeping if light is not turned on/Person who fears vibration of car which passes outside.
 It is a serious problem for the person though sees like luxurious worry.
b. A former stationmaster of JR in Hokkaido was contributed the objection in vol.5.
"The victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake look like being at paradise ".
He has experience worked in the rescue corps of the large air raid in Tokyo during the war second.
 c.Neither the demand nor the action of the victims are always correct.
The person who had helped the victims in the vicinity at the risk of one's life in the morinig was monopolizing the care package in the refuge at night.
The same person becomes the good man and a bad man.
W Awareness obtained from activity Disaster of "Abundant societies"

It is easy for people of an old generation to disregard suffering of the victims based on abundance. Victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake are victims of "Abundant societies".Because minimum food, clothing, and housing has been secured, the worth living is not rather found easily. This is not "Luxurious worry". Suffering which victims hold is common with the problem of the entire society in Japan. There is no beginning of the solution if we do not think about these as a new problem which "Abundant societies" has.

Creation of worth living

 The volunteer work became active in the striken area. This leads to the creation of the worth living.
The volunteer work is also effective as the mechanism that the society supports the problems which we had solved domestically up to now.
Care of elderly person/Nursing of physically handicapped person/Youth's delinquency

 Help of the society is obtained and a domestic problem is solved.

After the war second,the large family system collapsed in Japan. In modern Japan, a lot of domestic problems which cannot be solved domestically exist. Many of those problems are being concealed by the family, because they are disreputable.
Because the family tries to conceal the problems from the society, the problem might become aggravated. The courage entrusted to the society is necessary. The devices to accept them besides the administration are necessary.
X Problems of activity How to make the atmosphere, "Even if the real intention is written, it is safe" , is a problem.

Person's idea is decided by its standpoint and the habit of the idea and the information which it has . Because the habit of the standpoint and the idea is individuality, it is natural differing. Notes of the real intention do not gather if it is not admitted. Author and reader's ideas change by collecting notes of the real intention, and sharing information, and it is wonderful if come to being able to sympathize.

It is necessary to send information which can be interesting of people.

A useful hints for people outside the striken area have been filled in the striken area. It is necessary to send information which can be thought that not the stranger thing but we are "victims in the future".
The earthquake intensively clarified the problems made potential in the entire society in Japan.
10 The future of activity We will issue ten volumes in ten years.
